- THE DESIGN PROCESS -

// INTRODUCTIONS. To get the ball rolling, all you have to do is fill out the booking form. This is where you tell me about you and your business. Also, be sure to ask any questions you may have on the comment section of the form.

// BOOKING. Once we’ve had our “virtual introduction”, I’ll be able to let you know when my next available project slot is. In order to provide my clients with my best work and inspire creativity, I work with one client at a time rather than dividing my attention and juggling multiple timelines. I reserve 2-week blocks for the Branding Package and  3-week blocks for the Branding & Web Package. A 50% deposit will be required to secure your slot in the project queue.

// LOG IN. After you book your spot on the calendar and your payment is processed, I will send you the URL and password for your Project Portal. On this page, you'll be abel to keep track of the entire process from start to finish. This is where you will get your Client Homework assignment, see your logo concepts, leave your feedback, submit your revision requests and stay updated on every detail of the project.

// CLIENT HOMEWORK. In the Client Portal, you'll gain access to the Client Homework Workbook. This homework helps you tap into your vision for your brand and also helps you and me get on the same page before any designs are created. If you don’t speak “designer”, don’t worry because I’ve carefully crafted a list of questions to help us understand each other better. I want ensure that we are both 100% stoked about the the entire process. I’ll also ask you to put together a Pinterest board of images that say, “That’s so me!”. It could be a pillow, architecture, colors, stationery, clothing, packaging, a logo, a pattern or texture… anything! I’ve found this stage to be one of the key components in nailing a design for my clients, and it’s a lot of fun, too. For Web Clients: This is when you'll gather all of the content you'd like to have on your website. You'll need to include all photos (head shots, product photos, etc). Your Workbook will include a checklist for you to use to make sure you have all of the bases covered. Your Client Homework must be completed at least one week before your project start date.

// THE SPRINGBOARD. Your project start date has arrived and it's time to get to work! First off, I'll create an Inspiration Board that embodies your brand. To do this, I take your Pinterest board along with the answers in your Client Homework and break it down into basic design elements. Branding is all about the emotions we feel when interacting with a business, and Inspiration Boards help set the vibe that the brand will create.

The Inspiration Board will be the springboard for your brand, and when it makes you feel the right things, that’s where the magic happens. If you want to change anything, I provide one revision to make sure your Inspiration Board is perfect before moving on to the next step in the design process.

// LOGO DEVELOPMENT. This is where the rubber meets the road and I put my skills, experience and creative ideas to work. To get the creative juices flowing, I get out a pad of paper and move away from the computer. These ideas are built from the ground up through sketches, then brought to life on the computer - all while using your Inspiration Board as a guide. Once I have a handful of concepts to share with you (normally 3 to 5 designs), it’s your time to analyze, compare and decide. Each variation will be completely unique and you’ll have different type/layout/design options to choose from. This is the time to let me know if you want to see any specific changes or tweaks. I’ll provide up to two sessions of revisions on your favorite design.

// STYLE GUIDE. Once we’re done finalizing your logo, I will build a Brand Style Guide that will include your polished logo, custom color palette, secondary logo, icon(s), font palette, custom-designed textures and other essential brand elements. I’ll provide up to one round of revisions.

// COLLATERAL. Now that the logo has been developed and the Brand Style Guide has been designed, it's time to move on to your collateral pieces. I'll design up to four collateral pieces for your brand that will tie everything together. The collateral pieces can be anything from business cards, sticker designs, rubber stamp design, marketing cards, media kit, etc. I'll provide up to two revisions on your collateral collection.

// WEB DEVELOPMENT.  If you purchased the Branding & Web Package, this is the step of the process when I take all of the information you gave me for your website in the Client Homework Workbook and pull it together to design a mobile and desktop website (using Squarespace) tailored to your brand - right down to the very last detail.

// LAUNCH! At this point, I will send you a PayPal invoice for the remaining balance. Once your final payment has been processed, I will send your source files to you via DropBox for quick and efficient delivery. All of our hard work has paid off. With butterflies in your stomach and a newfound confidence in your business, you’ll be ready to launch your new brand. Hooray!
